Human Rights Association : Prisons were turned to death houses

İZMİR – Human Rights Associations (İHD) İzmir branch executive Ahmet Çiçek spoke about right violations in prison since last year. Çiçek “State of Emergence’s implementations turned the prisons to death home. Hundreds of sick prisoners are on the death line and unfortunately both state and public opinion are just watching” said.



According to İHD İzmir Branch report for Aegean region’s prison , communication , health and sheltering rights of prisoners were limited ; battery against prisoners at highest level. After July 15 failed coup attempt, torture and exile implementations on prisoners are raised intensively. Also 60 minutes of visitation right was decreased to 40 minutes.




İHD İzmir Branch also reported numbers torture and battery implementations against prisoners at Aegean region’s prison such as Kırıklar, Menemen and Şakran.
