A child prisoner goes on hunger strike since 31 days

İZMİR – A prisoner 17 year-old in Şakran Children Prison is going on hunger strike since December 9 of 2015 because he was kept locked in cell.

İzmir Şakran Children and Youth Prison is on the agenda again about torture incidents against prisoners. 17 year-old is going on hunger strike since December 9 of 2016 to protest cell confinement. The child had been detained with team friends in 2 September 2016 because of he played role of a prosecutor who killed on the theatre.

The child’s lawyer Dinçer Çalım said child health condition is going worse and he lost abnormally weights. “ There is only a reason to raising torture against prisoners in the prison : Torturers were unpunished. These people can’t torture the prisoners without permission of state. They know that nothing will happen to them when they torture the prisoner. We wrote petition to relevant authorities but none of them responded” said lawyer Çalım.
