Co-mayors of Tutak and Doğubeyazıt Muniicipalities taken into custody

AĞRI – Police raided to Tutak and Doğubeyazıt Municipalities’ buildings and houses at the same hours in Ağrı. Tutak Municipality co-mayor Fırat Öztürk and Doğubeyazıt Municipality co-mayors Rohat Özbay and Delal Tekdemir were taken into custody in raids.

Police raided number of houses at this morning. Numbers of people included suspended co-mayor of Tutak Municipality Fırat Öztürk were taken into custody.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Tutak district co-chair Hakan Turgut, Democratic Regions Party district co-chair (DBP) Kemal Turgut, Fecri Oğul, Bülent Oğul, Abdulmenaf Yıldız were taken into custody in Tutak-Ağrı and a citizen named Baran Öztürk was taken into custody in İstanbul.


According to received information, around 45 people were taken into custody and sent to District Gendarme Commandership.

Police also raided to Doğubeyazıt Municipality at morning hours in Ağrı. Co-mayors Delal Tekdemir house was raided in Ağrı and Rohat Özbey was taken into custody in Urfaat the same hours by police.

The searching is continuing in the Doğubeyazıt Municipality and police blockaded around the building. It was also reported that numbers of municipality’s employees were taken into custody in raids.
