MARDİN – Êzidîs who were forced to transfer to AFAD camp in Midyat can’t receive medical service neither pray and live freely. Êzidîs are silenced by fear of threatens.
Around 30 thousand Êzidîs future still unclear after DAİŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) seized the Sinjar on 2014. Fled Êzidîs had been settled to Fidanlık Camp which built by Yenişehir Municipality. After trustee appointed to Yenişehir Municipality the camp was closed and Êzidîs forced to transfer to Disaster and Emergence Menagment Presidency (AFAD) camp in Midyat.
Êzidîs can go out of the camp only for one day to satisfy their needs. Despite the Syrian refugees could receive medical service, Êzidîs hardly can receive.
Xeleb Ali (40) and his family with four children is one of the families who had to migrate from Sinjar after DAİŞ seized the city. “ Thanks to YPG ( Peoples’ Protection Unions) and PKK (Kurdistan Worker Party) we could survive from death. We came to Turkey from Zakho and firstly we settled to Midyat camp. But one day I had to go to Iraq for a short while. When I came back to camp they refused my entrance. Therefore we moved to Diyarbakır” says Ali.
“ People who lose their life is taken to Iraq. Because every one wants to embed their relatives’ body in their land. They only let one alive person can cross the border. But the one who crosses the border can’t live in the camp anymore. We pray every morning, afternoon and evening to turn our face up the sun. But even praying is hard here. We escaped from DAİŞ and that’s why we came here. But they left us among Sunni Arabs. We are afraid of praying” said Ali.
Qasım Baco (70) is one of the Êzidîs who forced to transfer to AFAD camp. “ We couldn’t bring anything with us when we forced to come here. Also we had to pay to doctor if we need to go. But Syrian doesn’t pay for it. We could go to doctor for free in Diyarbakır. Then doctors were providing medicine stuffs to us for free. But now we have to pay for all of those necessary needs” said Baco.
