ISTANBUL – HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ said “Infrastructure of regime changing is created. One man regime may be the most vital critical point.”

Cumhuriyet Newspaper published the interview with imprisoned Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ by letter.

Yüksekdağ “ We are kept under the lockdown since we were jailed. This is a revenge and punish policy all by it self.

Only life prison sentenced prisoners can be taken under the lockdown in law. But all elected politicians are kept lockdown unlawfully. All meeting with my lawyers are recorded by camera and guards are staying beside us when I am talking with my lawyer. Also all notes I wrote during the meeting with my lawyers are seized” said Yüksekdağ.


Yüksekdağ also answer the question of how she see future of Turkey. “ They want to block Turkey’s way with creating despotic regime. Infrastructure of regime changing is created. One man regime may be the most vital critical point. If we let presidency regime passes, the war will be permanent and there will be a State of Emergency’s regime” said Yüksekdağ.

“ We are paying a price that because we predicted these days. But if it is necessary we all have to pay the price. Not only for us. For whole Turkey” said Yüksekdağ.

“ There is a huge potential of ‘No’ voters against presidency system despite the anti-democratic conditions. They want to weaken HDP and democracy block because they have potential to stand against the regime” said Yüksekdağ
