“ No to dictatorship” campaign launched against constitutional amendment by Free Women’s Movement (TJA) in Diyarbakır yesterday. Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) women PMs, commented about the constitutional amendment. HDP Batman PM Ayşe Acar Başaran also said “ we will run the second part of campaign of ‘ I protect to my freedom, my land and my leadership”

Başaran also said “ Voice of ‘No’ should be raised against dictatorship’s regime and it will not be limited with only saying ‘NO’. There is no any place for women, youths, Alevis, Êzidîs. There has been put only a criteria; Turkish, Sunni and masculine system is predicted. Of course we have been struggling with this mindset. So we will keep continue to struggle in referendum campaign. Despite the all oppressions, detentions, we can raise the voice of the ‘No’ in referendum.”

“ We as women say ‘No’ to build up a new system which women can live with their conscious and we take inspiration from Öcalan’s paradigm. We will not struggle only for removing lock down on Öcalan but also for his freedom. Therefore we named our campaign ad “ We will definitely win with Öcalan” said Başaran.

HDP Van PM Bedia Özgökçe mentioned “ We will say ‘No’ to constitutional amendment which there is no color of women. Government targeted firstly women co-mayors during the operation and also women institutions were targeted at the beginning. We are facing with a constitutional amendment which ignores women and aims to keep permanent the State of Emergency.

Therefore we will organizing to campaign to say ‘No’. We will work door to door, from street to street”
