DİYARBAKIR – HDP group deputy chairperson Pervin Buldan “Turkey needs to a democratic republic not one man regime. The only way to raising campaign, organizing ‘No’ and winning big” said.

Democratic People Congress (DTK), Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK), Free Women’s Movement (TJA), Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) started to ‘No’ campaign with “ We shall stop the dictatorship with saying ‘No’” slogan in Diyarbakır yesterday on January 31. HDP group deputy chairperson Pervin Buldan said they will organizing ‘No’ campaign from door to door.

“ A referendum is conducted by alliance of Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). There were coup plotter Kenan Evren constitution for years. We have to know that new constitution is not better than this one. Opposite this is more nationalist more fascist constitution than before. We don’t have to accept this constitution” said Buldan.


“There are imprisoned 12 parliamentarians of HDP includes co-chairs. They releases one of our parliamentarians but jailing two of them. They want to scare people to not go outside during the referendum campaign. But Kurds always attach importance to the election. They paid the price for it. Despite the all oppressions they could come over successfully. Everybody who exposed the state’s violence will come together and say ‘No’ on this referendum” said Buldan.

Pervin Buldan also said “ We mentioned about Democratic Republic in the declaration we announced with DTK,HDK,TJA and DBP. Kurdistan Workers Party’s (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan also mentions about it. We were refusing the one man dictatorship while we say democratic republic. This constitution brings one man dictatorship. Turkey needs to have democratic republic not one man dictatorship. Democratic Republic Constitution will includes all human righs which consider about equal, libertarian.”
