ANKARA – HDP Central Executive Committee commemorated victims of basement in Cizre who were burnt by police and stated “ Cizre People Council co-chair Mehmet Tunç saying ‘Be proud of us because we didn’t kneel down’ is still in our memories as democratic forces”.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Committee released a written statement about commemoration victims of basement in Cizre who were burnt by police.
Here is the summary of the written statement ;
Cizre is a wealthy Kurdish city in Mesopotamia’s history as cultural and social background. Unfortunately city was destroyed by five time curfew declaration since July 2015 and cultural and historic backgrounds were damaged.
Name of Cizre was written as “death basement” in the history page end of the this military operation. 211 people included 72 unidentified were lost their life from 7 to 70 year-old.
All those facts were reported by many countries’ parliamentary and United Nations’ Human Rights Commission.
Sayings “ Be proud of us and we didn’t kneel down” of Mehmet Tunç, Asya Yüksel, Derya Koç and all youths,womens are still in our memory as Kurds and democratic forces.
The ones who ordered to destruction and massacre of Cizre were imprisoned on charge of attempters and planners of July 15 coup attempts. Despite this, any investigation wasn’t launched about massacre of Cizre.
We are not forget the ones who resisted on behalf of dignity and humanity. We will remember them as democracy, equal, freedom fighters.
