DİYARBAKIR – 20 people included relatives of prisoners and politician began a hunger strike in Diyarbakır for solidarity with prisoners on indefinite hunger strike without rotation since 55 days. It was reported relatives of prisoners and politicians will go on hunger strike for two days with rotation.
20 people included prisoners’ families, DBP (Democratic Regions Party), HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party), TJA (Free Women Movement), DTK (Democratic Society Congress) announced by press statement that they began a hunger strike for solidarity with prisoners in hunger strike.
It was reported that HDP Diyarbakır Parliamentatian Sİbel Yiğitalp, DBP co-spokesperson Gülcihan Şimşek and numbers executives of DBP and HDP attended the press conference. DBP vice co-chair Mehmet Arslan “ It isn’t wanted that people even to breath by oppressing people outside and inside. There will be heavy consequences if there will not be a strong organization. Therefore we become participate of hunger strike to stop the policy of oppression” said.
A relative of prisoner in hunger strike Ronahi Pala “We are starting to think when we get out here during the meeting because of their attitude. So think how prisoners have live with that. We don’t want to any people to die. Our children’s demands should be accepted immediately and we will involve the hunger strike until demands to be accepted” said.
