VAN – Soldiers and rural guards entered to schools by guns and threatened polling clerks during the voting process in Gürpınar county of Van.
Polling clerks were threatened by armed Turkish soldiers and rural guards right after voting process began in Gürpınar county. It was reported soldiers and rural guards checked citizen ID card despite no authoritative. Also polling clerks were threatened by guns while they objected to treatments of armed soldiers and rural guards. It was also reported that soldiers and rural guards directed to people to vote ‘Yes’.
Meanwhile citizen who saw soldiers entered the schools, left without voting.
