HDP applies to YSK to cancel referendum

ANKARA – HDP committee applied to YSK ( Supreme Election Committee) for canceling referendum. Committee said “ Unsealed voting is a grave violation and enough reason to void. Because no chance to fix it up.”




A committee included Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) group deputy chairperson Ahmet Yıldırım, lawmakers Mithat Sancar, İmam Taşçı, Ertuğrul Kürkçü, Müslüm Doğan and Bedia Gökçen Ertan and executives applied to YSK to cancel referendum due to grave violation. After application committee made a press statement.




Lawmaker Mithat Sancar reminded referendum was conducted under the State of Emergency’s conditions. “ There were unequal circumstances and numbers violation which was proved. We had already suspicious before April 16 because of unequal circumstances. Specially in Kurdish cities there were numbers violations” said Sancar.



“ Decision of YSK swept away possibility of proving voting from outside unlawfully. There is no any chance to fix up this damage. The decision was made when voting process ended in Kurdish cities. After the decision there was no chance to cancel unsealed voting. Because of this grave violation , the referendum should be canceled” said Sancar.
