İSTANBUL – According to Turkey General Service Worker’s Union’s (Genel-İş) “Being Child Labor in Turkey” report, number of child labors reached to two millions. 78 percent of children are working informally and 56 children lost their life on year of 2016, according to report.
Genel-İş released its “Being child labor in Turkey. There are around two millions child labors in Turkey, mention in the report. “ There are child labors between 15-17 year-old in the current official reports. But there is no any data about under 15 year-old child labors” said in the report.
“ Children are worked informally both in rural regions and cities. According to TÜİK ( Turkish Statistical Institute) data, 78 percent of labor children are worked informally. Also 56 child labors lost their life during working on 2016 while 32 child labor lost their life during working on 2012” mentioned in the report.
