ŞIRNAK – It was reported six people included a disabled person who were taken into custody in İdil county of Şırnak were exposed to torture during detention. Relatives of detained people said they were exposed to torture during police raids towards their houses.
Five houses were raided by police in Sulak village of İdil county and six people were taken into custody. Citizen named Remzi and Hekim Tekmemuray were released while others named Selahattin Tekmenuray, Mehmet Emin and his brother Mehmet Şefa Terkin were sent to police headquarter of Şırnak. It was reported disabled Resul Tekmenuray was sent to hospital after he was battered by state forces.
Detained Emin and Şefa Terkin siblings’ mother Gule Terkin told soldiers entered the village while she woke up for praying. “ Soldiers came directly to our home and point the gun to us. They threated us by killing. They tortured to my children and asked them where they hide the gun which is not true. They also didn’t let me pray during raid” said mother.
Mother Terkin said soldiers also took her grandson (15) into custody by battering.
Brother Welat Terkin “ I woke up by my mother’s scream and soldiers broke my room’s door and blow me down. Then they asked me where I am hiding the armoury.Drones were flying over all houses. They searched my brothers and sister by naked” said.
