TEHRAN – Iran state television reported Hassan Rouhani won the presidential election of the country.

State television of Iran reported reformist Rouhani won the presidential election of the country against Ibrahim Reisi. According to Interior Ministry of Iran, Rouhani won 22.8 million votes, compared to Reisi’s 15.5 million votes with most of the votes counted.

State television congratulated him on the victory on Saturday afternoon. An announcement of the final results by Iran’s Interior Ministry was expected later.
