RAQQA – Sjoder Heeger who had fought against Russia in Donbass of Ukraine is fighting against DAİŞ to liberate Raqqa City. Heeger says what happened in Donbass was war of powers but war of Raqqa is a war of liberty.




Hemrat town where three miles far from northern Raqqa was isolated by Democratic Syrian Forces (QSD) from DAİŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) on fourth stage of Furious Euphrates towards Raqqa. Sjoder Heeger (Baran Sason) is one of the internationalist fighter from Ukraine in Raqqa Operation. Heeger says war between Russia and Ukraine and between QSD and DAİŞ are different. Sason, War between Ukraine and Russia was war of the powers but between QSD and DAİŞ is freedom struggle.




There are two pigeon’s feathers on Sason’s military weal. Sason says feathers give luck during wars to fighter. “ I came Syria six months ago. I knew Kurds along time ago how they are fighting for freedom. Therefore I wanted to come and know a new life that they are building. I started to learn Kurdish among fighters” says Sason.




“ Friends helped me for getting oriented here . I can say I am more comfortable than I had in Ukraine. There was an opportunity for fighting against DAİŞ and I wanted to use that opportunity. After two months military training I joined to Raqqa Operation. Operation towards Raqqa is an important opportunity. People will run their land after Raqqa liberation. I am fighting to provide a federal system for these lands which people can live peaceful.
