Letter from Nuriye Gülmen : Do not forget to being voice of hunger strike!

ANKARA – Discharged academician Nuriye Gülmen sent a letter from the prison. “We don’t regret. Justice is not belonging to prosecutors and judges who works by direction and order. Justice is on our own hands and our hunger!” said Gülmen.

Academician Nuriye Gülmen who was jailed on May 23 during 79th days of hunger strike sent a letter from Sincan Prison.

“ Dear resistant friends and peoples of Turkey,

We were accused to create an atmosphere of Gezi and Teke resistances and arrested on claim of ‘being member of illegal organization’. The investigation they are keeping had launched just 20 days ago. They accused us as “being member of illegal organization” in 20 days as if they asked the ‘illegal organization’ whether we are members of it or no. The questions they asked were only about social media shares .

But we were jailed. We don’t regret. We know that justice is not belonging to prosecutors and judges who works by directives and orders from the palace. The justice is on our own hands, on our hungers!

Today is 78th days of our hunger strike. We yell out from prisons on our 78th days of hunger strike : We want our jobs back!

We took sprit of Yüksel, your smiles, tears, hands, eyes with us in here to make colors on the walls of prison!

Do not forget us! Do not forget to being voice of hunger strike, being side of us! Do not leave alone the street of Yüksel!

And for sure

We will win!”
