Sexual torture claims towards 'Secret İmam' of FETÖ

ANKARA –It was claimed 10 people who were taken into custody as part of operation towards movement of Fetullah Gülen which is also known as ‘Secret Imam’ were exposed to sexual torture in Ankara police headquarter. Claims also were recorded in the court file.

10 people included doctor, student and public officials claimed that they were exposed to sexual torture during detention in Ankara and statements were recorded in the court file. Lawyers of people demanded to Human Rights Association (İHD) to investigate the claims and apply to relevant institutions.





According to S.K statement to the court, “ We were taken to warden room three by three. The ones who introduced their selves as ‘state’ forced me to take off my clothes and threated me to abuse by nightstick”.




Another person named Y.S “ I was taken into custody by police on Wednesday. I was waited in a dark room by kneel down. I was exposed to torture and defamation. Then I was left the place where I was taken into custody and police told to me ‘we will see you again tomorrow’. Then I was taken into custody again on Thurdsday. They offered me to apply effective remorse law. I had statement which is not true during torture to escape from such as abuses and pressures” said.



Lawyer who doesn’t want to mention his/her name said “ I am a lawyer as member of Ankara Bar. My client named B.O told me by crying that they were exposed sexual torture during detention with his numbers friends in detention. My client was taken into custody on April 26 of 2017 on Wednesday when thousand people were taken into custody as part of operation towards FETÖ (Fetullahist Terrorist Organization).




According to my client, 15 people were kept in a quite small cell during detention. Out of working hours when all personnel left police headquarter, all people in detention were taken to a room one by one and all of them were exposed to sexual torture by police in the room. According to my client, some of people had return from the room as unconscious.”
