ANKARA – HDP spokesperson Osman Baydemir spoke at weekly caucus of the party and criticized the report of Investigation Commission of the Coup. Baydemir describe the report as ‘ hiding the coup and absolve AKP.

Baydemir reminded the anniversary of Gezi and said ‘ Objection was against the one who always says ‘I know much more than other’ mindset. But this objection was criminalized and terrorized by the state.



Baydemir also said coup attempt doesn’t want to being uncovered. “ When questions were raised, the commission ended its investigation. There is almost nothing in the 660 pages of the report. This commission is the commission of absolving AKP( Justice and Development Party)” said Baydemir.




Baydemir also told co-mayor of Diyarbakır Gültan Kışanak was jailed because she uncovered the political side of coup attempt. “ Gültan Kışanak came to Ankara and she uncovered the political side of coup attempt. Right after she returned to Diyarbakır, she was jailed” said Baydemir.

Baydemir also reacted to Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu’s speech that he claimed imprisoned academician Nuriye Gülmen and teacher Semih Özakça are ‘terrorist’. “ I am asking to Soylu whether he is judge or not. You declared them as ‘guilty’ but let us look at their criminal record. We have official documents that Özkaça and Gülmen are not ‘guilty’. But we know you have criminal record which was written as ‘guilty’. I will tell to the press next week’ said Baydemir.
