ANKARA – Prof. Baskın Oran who was targeted by Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu because he mentioned state treatments in Kurdish region said “ Soylu makes allegations to news that he caused. Those news began to circulate after Soylu began to speak. I thank him for this.”


Prof. Baskın Oran was targeted by Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu after he released an article titled “ Some tragicomic experiments over Kurds”. Soylu announced that he will make allegation after he insulted Oran. Prof. Baskın Oran spoke to dihaber after Soylu’s statement.



* Turkish president had targeted to academicians with same statements before Soylu. Now Soylu is repeating same statement. How do you comment this?


They didn’t hold off from doing these crimes, I mean separating the country. But I am accused to separate the country by publishing this article. As a consequence, they alleged for news I made which they caused.


All the more amazing, my article is used in everywhere after interior minister’s intervention and defamation. Therefore I thank to him for he caused to circulate the new to everywhere.


I thank him but, after Ramadan Celebration I will proceed against him because he called me as ‘ henchman’ and ‘blackguard’.


* Pro-government media outlets targeted you too…


You mean partisan media. This is the another interesting and ‘beneficial’ effect. All partisan medias wrote about me like one person wrote and sent to them. They had wrote “ Minister Soylu made allegation towards Baskın Oran who used his journalists identity for separating the country by provoke to Kurds”.


Someone orders to partisan media and they published the news without changing even the words. I would be ashamed if I do same think, I would change the word. But they don’t.


* Is there any fictionalization at your article? Because Interior Minister claims that you fictionalized.


What fictionalize! I took all data and news from other media outlets without changing any information. I don’t have any contribution. If they make allegation towards me that I plagiarisation. Now my article was published with postscript after interior minister’s twitting. If they have courage, they should read it with postscript.


*Why are you intellectuals always being targeted ?


Because people like us writing article by following scientist method and this affects people. This new doesn’t draw attention by itself. But when same news being collected in an article and published , it has more meaningful.


* It was mentioned that you will be sued. How do you comment this?


I didn’t received any information that I was sued yet. But I only read interior minister announced that he will make allegation towards me. I wouldn’t be surprised. Because prosecutors open sue and prosecutors wait for AKP’s (Justice and Development Party) directive. Because AKP took prosecutors under its control by 69th article of the law no 6545 after 18.06.2014.


* How do you comment about Justice March of CHP ( Republic People Party) ? HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) decide to attend the march, but HDP has demand to keep continue to march until Edirne.


I think HDP has been late a bit. But it is not too late. Of course this march wasn’t launched only for CHP lawmaker Enis Berberoğlu but for everyone. CHP tries to erase its sins of immunity.


If march continues until Edirne there will be an important symbolic place. Otherwise CHP will be accused as egoist party.
