MARDİN – Kurdish politician Ahmet Türk who spent his life for national unity of Kurds said “ Kurds are a potential power and actor and Kurds have historic opportunity for its independence. But It has to being calculated negative and positive consequences of ‘referendum of freedom.”
Experienced Kurdish politician Ahmet Türk who carried out with Kurdish parties for national unity of Kurds for years spoke out about ‘referendum of independence’ which is planned to being conducted on September 25.
Türk mentioned Kurds couldn’t gathered mostly because of distrust situation between Kurdish parties. “ If national unity could be succeed today, the unity could provide softening for both international relationships and relation between Kurdish parties” said Türk.
Ahmet Türk emphasized it shouldn’t being shown approach to national unity as ideology but should approach with democratic perspective. Türk also reminded that the land Kurds live were separated with four pieces and those four pieces have different conditions. “ Therefore Implementation of same model is almost impossible for four pieces of land where Kurds are living. Relation between Kurds and Turks in Turkey is completely different. Therefore we are making effort for being launched a process which ground on living together with common democratic system. Conditions in Syria is completely different . Relation between Kurds and Arabs and demography are different than Turkey. Therefore thinking same model for different pieces would be mistake. I can clearly sat that statues flags are not important but freedom of people and living together in democratic republic system is important for us” said Türk.
“ Of course no Kurd stand against an independent Kurdish State. We principally defend and respect to self-determination right. But there is no definition whether Kurds declare independence after referendum. Because middle east became a marsh. We don’t know what marsh will take from Kurds or give to Kurds? We still don’t know clearly How Turkey and Iran will react? Or What will international power guarantee for Kurds?” said Türk.
Türk also reminded that status of Sinjar and Kirkuk are unclear. Kurds parties were voted 70 percent in Kirkuk. Despite Kirkuk is belonging to Kurds , it is not clear whether it will being involved to referendum or not. Alsa Sinjar is Kurdish origin. Entire of Sinjar are Kurds but it is belonging to Mosul State” said Türk.
