MARAŞ – It is claimed that children abuse, suicide and prostitution has increasing at the built Temprorary refugee camp with 27 thousand capacity in Terolar Neighborhood of Maraş despite Alevis resistence. An employee of the camp claims women are sent out of the camp after midnight for prostitution.

Worker of the camp claimed, children of the camp are exposed to sexual abuse and women are sold during the night.

Narrative of worker who doesn’t want to mention his name because of life security and allowed to record his speech told, five year old child was exposed to sexual abuse six months ago. “ We don’t have any news about that child anymore. We don’t even know it was sexual abuse or rape. But we know something happened. After event happened, around the school was hurdled and security measure was tightened. I have some contacts with Turkmens who live in the camp. They are bringing their children to school with their hand after five years old child was abused. We are working in the camp but we are not allowed to get in the houses. What is the reason of this? We are entering the camp like we are entering to prison. We can’t have any contact with refugees” said worker.

“ There is also another claimed that a child İmmet Ali (10) committed suicide on May. According to a worker, he hanged himself with chain. But we don’t know why he committed to suicide. Because of he was abused or raped? It is impossible 10 years old boy commits suicide by himself with chain. Their house was two floors. How did he find the item to hang himself. Something different and important is happening in here and most of these are we are unaware” said worker.

“ Women are taken to vineyard house after midnight from the camp. As they say women are taken to vineyard house as cleaner. But we continuously hearing that they are taken for prostitution. Authorities of the camp earn money by using women of camp as prostitute” said worker.
