DİYARBAKIR – State of Emergency that was declared under colors of ‘struggling against Gülen Community after questionable failed ‘coup’ attempt became a means of oppression towards opponents and Kurds. 937 people were jailed since then only in Diyarbakır.
One year passed over declaration of State of Emergency right after failed coup attempt of July 15. State of Emergency became a witch-hunt means.
According to Justice Ministry’s data, 50 thousand 510 people were jailed since declaration of State of Emergency. Especially Chief Public Prosecution’s Office of Diyarbakır is setting record over jailing Kurdish politicians.
According to data, 897 people were jailed, A thousand 219 people were released by juridical control decision, warrant was issued for 91 people in five thousand 477 people as part of investigations towards Gülen Organization in Diyarbakır since July 15. Also, 937 people were jailed, a thousand 401 people were released by juridical control decision in four thousand 937 people as part of investigations towards Kurdish politicians under colors of ‘struggling against PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party)’ since one year.
It was also reported investigation was launched to 68 businessperson as part of investigation under the name of ‘investigation Financial Support of PKK’ in Diyarbakır. 10 businessperson were jailed during investigation.
According to data, six lawmakers of HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) were jailed and 13 co-chairs were sued by Chief Public Prosecution’s Office of Diyarbakır’s demanding.
According to data, there are a thousand 108 prisoners in Diyarbakır D Type Closed Prison and 600 of them are charged ‘member of PKK’, 299 of them are accused ‘being member of Gülen Community’, 118 of them are jailed on charge of ‘being member of Hezbollah’ and only one is accused ‘being member of DAİŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant)’.
