İSTANBUL – Trial of Cumhuriyet Newspaper’s workers which 17 included 11 imprisoned are judged will be heard tomorrow on June 24. One of the case lawyers Abbas Yalçın stated there is no even a single evidence against charges.
The trial which 11 author,journalists, lawyers are judged as imprisoned and six are judged without prisoned will be heard at Çağlayan Courthouse of Istanbul tomorrow on June 24. Imprisoned journalists are accused “committee crime on behalf of ‘PKK’ (Kurdistan Workers Party), ‘FETÖ’ (Fetullahist Terrorist Organization) and ‘DHKP/C’ (Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front).
Lawyer Abbas Yalçın “ They didn’t explain us even in which context and accuses they are jailed from the beginning. The file was hidden from us under color of confidentially order. We have been waited for five month for accusation. Journalists were accused on different claims at the beginning but after accusation file was prepared they are accused on different claims. We learnt accusation file was prepared from the media. Even our clients had difficulty on reaching the file they are judged” said.
Yalçın also reminded journalists have been waiting since nine months for going on trial. “ It is difficult to comment about file as lawyer. Because there is nothing to speak about the law in the file” said Yalçın.
