Historic castle taken from Islamic State in Raqqa

RAQQA – DAİŞ lost the last castle it hold named Harun Reshid Castle in Raqqa. It was reported QSD forces took the castle under control after 61 days operation towards Raqqa.

61 days passed over QSD (Democratic Syrian Forces) launched operation named ‘Great War’ towards DAİŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) for liberating Raqqa city. Al-Karim Neighborhood was liberated after Meşleb,Sinaa, Bitani, Sebehiye, Qadesiye, Romani, Yermuk, Hattin and Al-Cezra Neighborhoods were liberated from DAİŞ.

Fighters aim to old Raqqa Neighborhood from eastern front. It was reported historic castle Harun Rashid Castle was liberated from DAİŞ by QSD fighters.

It was reported QSD forces take the city under the control after conflict occurred for days.

Harun Rashid Castle was established between 763-809 during Abbacies and the castle was found in 1907 by archeologists. The castle also is known as ‘women’s castle’.
